Government Open Data Terms of Use 1.0

Use of data or reuse of data shall comply with the terms and conditions as below.

1. Use of data under these terms
The data owner gives permission to use the data at no charge.

2. Users can perform the following:
(i) Copy, publish, distribute and transfer data;

(ii) Data adaptation;

(iii) Use the data commercially and non -commercially; and

(iv) Combine data with other data or summarize data in a product or application.

3. If implementing any of those stated in para 2, the user MUST:
(i) State the data source in the product or application based on a statement specified by the data owner;

(ii) Provide a link to these Terms of Use; and

(iii) If the data owner does not provide a statement of the intellectual property owner of the data, the user shall use the following statement:
"Data and information are subject to the Malaysian Government Open Data Terms of Use 1.0"

4. EXCEPTIONS
These Terms of Use do not provide any rights to:
(i) Personal data;

(ii) The name, coat of arms, logo or any official symbol of the data owner;

(iii) Logo of the public sector organization or department;

(iv) Royal and military emblems;

(v) The rights of third parties over which the data owner has no authority;

(vi) Any intellectual property rights including patents, trademarks and design rights; and

(vii) Identity documents such as Malaysian Passport, MyKad.

5. NO WARRANTY
(i) Data is in the form as provided by the data owner. Data owners are exempt from any representations, warranties, obligations and liabilities in relation to the data; and

(ii) The data owner is not responsible for any errors and data loss. The owner of the data is also not responsible for any kind of loss, injury or damage resulting from the use of such data. The owner of the data does not guarantee the data is provided on an ongoing basis.

6. LAW
These Terms of Use are governed by the law under its jurisdiction and the owner of the data is the primary owner of such data.
